HEAL DEEPLY, LIVE FREELY – Experience the difference with Temple Gates
Welcome to Temple Gates Somatic Trauma Therapy
Unlock the missing piece in your healing journey.
At Temple Gates, we offer a transformative approach to healing that goes beyond traditional talk therapy. Our somatic trauma therapy is rooted in the understanding that trauma is often stored in the body—not just the mind. This stored trauma can manifest as chronic tension, discomfort, feeling emotionally overwhelm, or physical pain.
Unlike conventional therapy that focuses primarily on cognitive processing, somatic therapy emphasizes the deep connection between the body and mind. We help clients become more attuned to their bodily sensations, emotions, and nervous system responses in a safe, compassionate environment.
Through the Temple Gates process, we gently support the release of trauma held in the body’s cellular memory. Our goal is to help you regulate your nervous system, process difficult emotions, and restore a sense of safety, resilience, and wholeness—one step at a time.
Meet Brian & Alicia Derrico
Certified Temple Gates™ Practitioners
Brian and Alicia have more than 25 years of experience in counseling, deliverance, and inner healing. Throughout their journey, they have continually sought out any missing pieces that could lead to complete healing and freedom. When Anna from Trauma Gates personally invited them to a specialized training, they recognized it could provide a crucial piece of the puzzle. As they learned how trauma affects the brain, cellular memory, and overall well-being, they realized they were right—this was a transformative addition to their work.
Now, as licensed practitioners of Somatic Trauma Therapy, Brian and Alicia are passionate about using the tools and insights they’ve gained over their 25-year journey to help others experience profound freedom from the effects of trauma.
Philosphy
At Temple Gates, our approach to somatic trauma therapy is rooted in the belief that trauma is not only stored in the mind, but also in the body. Unresolved traumatic experiences often manifest as chronic tension, physical discomfort, or emotional dysregulation. Our philosophy centers on the deep connection between the body and mind, emphasizing the importance of nervous system regulation and present-moment awareness. By gently guiding clients to reconnect with their bodily sensations in a safe and supportive environment, we help release trauma stored in the nervous system and cellular memory. We view the body not as something to be fixed, but as a powerful ally in the healing process—one that holds the key to resilience, restoration, and lasting transformation.
Psalm 147:3 – He heals up the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
Research has shown that unhealed trauma leads to mental health and physical health issues. Providing an alternative to healing beyond traditional medicine gives people an opportunity to resolve root issues (trauma) and not mask symptoms with pharmaceuticals. We do not diagnose. We work congruently with other healthcare providers our clients may be working with.
What to Expect
At Temple Gates Somatic Trauma Therapy, we understand that beginning your healing journey can feel both hopeful and uncertain. Our goal is to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where your body and mind are honored in the healing process.
Here’s what you can expect when you work with us:
? A Safe and Gentle Approach
We take things at your pace. You will never be rushed or pushed to revisit trauma before you’re ready. Healing happens in safety, and we prioritize creating an environment where your nervous system can begin to relax and regulate.
? Connection Before Content
Rather than diving straight into painful memories, we focus on building trust and helping you connect with your body’s natural rhythms and signals. We gently guide you to notice and work with physical sensations that may be linked to past trauma.
? Body-Mind Integration
Sessions often include guided somatic exercises, grounding techniques, breathwork, and mindful awareness. You’ll learn how to tune into your body, identify areas of tension or numbness, and release trauma stored in the nervous system.
⏱ A Structured Yet Flexible Process
Most clients benefit from approximately 10 sessions, each lasting about 90 minutes. However, the length and pace of therapy can vary based on individual needs and the depth of trauma. Some may need additional sessions to support deeper layers of healing, and that’s perfectly okay—we honor your unique journey.
? Practical Tools for Daily Life
We’ll equip you with simple, effective tools to help you regulate your nervous system, manage emotional triggers, and build resilience—tools you can take with you into everyday life.
? A Path Toward Wholeness
As your body begins to feel safer, you may notice reduced anxiety, better emotional regulation, improved sleep, and a greater sense of peace. Our work is designed to help you restore connection to yourself—mind, body, and spirit.
I have had several trauma in my life that I did not process well during the time surrounding those losses. Temple Gates™ helped me identify where I was physically holding pain and strain in my body that was directly connected to my loss. With gentle methods and insight, my practitioner helped me identify the areas that needed releasing and integration. My body responded well—releasing tension and pain. I am very thankful for my sessions with Temple Gates™.
